Synchronous pulley is a key component in the field of mechanical transmission, usually made of materials such as steel, aluminum alloy, cast iron, brass, etc. Its internal hole form can be circular hole, D-shaped hole, or conical hole. The synchronous belt wheel transmission system mainly consists of a closed circular tape with equidistant teeth on the inner surface and corresponding pulleys, which transmit power through the meshing of gears between the pulleys.
There are various types of synchronous pulleys, classified by tooth shape, mainly including trapezoidal teeth and circular arc teeth. The trapezoidal toothed synchronous belt is rarely used in the main transmission of CNC machine tools, especially in machining centers. It is generally only used in motion transmission with low speed or power transmission with low power, because its tooth shape may cause noise and vibration under specific conditions. Arc toothed synchronous belts, on the other hand, overcome the shortcomings of trapezoidal toothed synchronous belts and have higher transmission accuracy and torque transmission, as well as lower noise. Therefore, they are more popular in situations where high-precision transmission is required.
When installing the synchronous pulley, it is necessary to pay attention to some details. For example, when installing the synchronous belt on the synchronous wheel, avoid using too much force or prying with hard objects to avoid damaging the synchronous belt. If the center distance of two synchronous wheels can be moved, the center distance should be shortened first, and the center distance should be reset after installing the synchronous belt. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the axis is parallel and that the frame supporting the pulley has sufficient stiffness.
The application of synchronous pulleys is extensive, with the advantages of accurate transmission ratio, no slip, smooth transmission, low noise, large transmission speed ratio range, high allowable linear speed, and high transmission efficiency. Therefore, synchronous pulleys play an important role in various mechanical transmission systems.
